The United States Army expressed concern regarding its ability to conduct night training exercises because of excessive outdoor lighting within a five-mile perimeter of Camp Bullis. Shavano Park happens to be located within this five-mile corridor, and in 2009, our Shavano Park City Council established regulations for outdoor lighting impacting Camp Bullis. These regulations support the United States Army and because of this relationship the community of Shavano Park benefits from the reduction of light pollution in the City.
